The Oshkosh Corporation Training Center provides world-class training to our customers on the vehicles that we manufacture. Our training department currently trains approximately 2,500 students annually worldwide. This training is conducted at our modern training facility located at our headquarters in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, or at our customer locations. At Oshkosh, meeting the needs of our customer is our highest priority.

We maintain a full-time, full-service training department, staffed by training specialists with long-term experience in the truck manufacturing industry. The training department, guided by the Director of Corporate Training, includes a Training Coordinator/Project Manager, Project Specialists, Administrative Assistant and numerous full-time training specialists.

Facility

Oshkosh's Training Center is located on 33 acres, which provides ample area for vehicle operation. Our facilities are clean, modern, spacious, and easily accessible from a major freeway. The Training Center provides a learning environment in which our students feel comfortable. Our classrooms are equipped with large tables, comfortable chairs, audio/video equipment and extensive areas of white boards. The learning laboratory is close to the classrooms and is large enough to accommodate the vehicles involved in training. The laboratory also has an assortment of component parts, cutaways and training aides to assist in the learning experience of our students.

Classes

Striker Maintenance

The Striker Maintenance course will enable students to understand the theory of operation of the vehicle fire fighting, hydraulic, piping, pneumatic, electrical, and auxiliary agent systems as they relate to vehicle maintenance activities. In addition, proper repair and diagnosis of the above systems will include power divider, hydraulic fan, steering, water piping, foam metering, quick buildup, air braking, auxiliary air, agent air, chassis electrical, agent electrical, engine electrical, transmission electrical, optional electrical, dry chemical, and Halotron systems. The course is designed for both novice and the experienced ARFF technicians.

Striker Advanced Electrical

The Advanced Electrical course will enable the student to understand the theory of operation of the vehicle engine, transmission, braking, turret control, elevated waterway, CanTrak, and auxiliary electrical systems as they relate to electrical controls. In addition, the students will learn the proper repair and diagnosis of the above systems to include Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit, Allison, WABCO ABS, Electronic Foam Metering, Elevated Waterway Control, Turret Control, Multiplexing, and optional systems. This course offers extensive schematic use and troubleshooting exercises. The course is designed for both the novice and the experienced ARFF technician.
