Shanghai Airport Receives Pair of Oshkosh Striker Vehicles to Support World Expo

OSHKOSH, Wis. (June 28, 2010) – Oshkosh Airport Products Group, a division of Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK), has delivered to and placed into service two Oshkosh® Striker® 3000 aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) vehicles at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport in China. Purchased by the Shanghai Airport Group, the two Striker vehicles are stationed at a recently completed terminal and runway constructed for Expo 2010 Shanghai China that runs through October 2010. The Expo attracts close to 500,000 visitors daily.

"We are excited and honored to see the Striker located at such a busy and noteworthy international gateway to China – and serving the spectacular 2010 World Expo," said Jeff Resch, Oshkosh Corporation Airport Products Group vice president and general manager. "This purchase by Shanghai Airport Group, when combined with earlier purchases for Pudong International Airport, means we now have six Oshkosh Striker vehicles in the region. That's a strong vote of confidence for these quality built, technologically advanced products."

The Oshkosh Striker 3000 offers a 6x6 all-wheel-drive axle configuration and proprietary technologies such as TAK-4® independent suspension, triple agent firefighting capabilities and Command Zone™ advanced electronics for enhanced maneuverability, firefighting power and reliability. Other features include a 3,000-gallon (11,356 L) water capacity, 420-gallon (1590 L) foam capacity, roof turret and six under truck nozzles.

The Oshkosh Striker is among the most popular ARFF vehicles in the world. Its capabilities have garnered the vehicle overwhelming respect among a growing list of customers, including Chicago O'Hare International, Dubai International, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International, Incheon International, South Korea, Jose Maria Cordova International, Medellin, Colombia, and Beijing Capital International.

Hongqiao International Airport is situated in the western outskirts of Shanghai, about 13 kilometers (about 8 miles) from downtown area and about 60 kilometers (about 37 miles) from Pudong International Airport. More than 80 years old, Hongqiao International Airport is the first civilian airport in Shanghai. After a series of renovations it has become one of the three international air transit centers in China. Ninety-one airlines currently operate between the airport and both domestic and international cities. The airport's Terminal 2 was opened earlier this year to support Expo 2010 Shanghai China. In addition to a new terminal, there is a new 3.3 kilometers long runway capable of supporting large aircraft, including the Airbus A380.
