(February 26, 2026) – Oshkosh Airport Products, an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) business, announced today Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU), operated by Aerostar Airport Holdings LLC, has acquired an Oshkosh Striker® 6x6 Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) vehicle. The delivery strengthens the airport’s all-Oshkosh ARFF fleet and reinforces a long-standing partnership grounded in safety, readiness and technical excellence.
Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport (SJU), Puerto Rico’s main aviation gateway and the busiest airport in the Caribbean, manages a highly complex airfield environment demanding precise coordination and continuous operational vigilance. These operational requirements highlight the necessity of maintaining advanced, reliable and mission-ready ARFF capabilities to ensure the airport’s resilience, regulatory compliance and effective response to a wide range of emergency scenarios.

Features of the Striker® 6x6 ARFF vehicle include:
- TAK-4® Independent Suspension System for precise control and ride quality across uneven or storm-impacted terrain
- Rear steering system (new to SJU), improving maneuverability and supporting long-term tire life
- 3,000-gallon (11,356-liter) water and 420-gallon (1,590-liter) foam capacity for extended response capability in areas without hydrant access
- Roof and low attack bumper turrets with discharge rates up to 1,250 GPM (4,731 LPM) and reach of 230 feet (70 m)
- Oshkosh Eco-EFP™ Foam System enabling environmentally responsible foam testing and delivery
- Onboard 10kW generator, powering lights, tools and critical systems independent of external power sources
The Striker 6x6 was secured through Oshkosh Airport Products’ Stock Program, enabling Aerostar Airport Holdings to move quickly in response to operational needs. The vehicle will be placed into service early in 2026, followed by commissioning and operator training delivered on-site by Oshkosh Airport Products’ International Field Service Representatives.
