Latest delivery supports nationwide modernization strategy and strengthens airport emergency response capabilities.
APPLETON, WIS. (June 16, 2026) — Oshkosh Airport Products, a division of Pierce Manufacturing Inc. and an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) business, has delivered eight Striker® 6x6 ARFF vehicles to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), supporting the agency’s ongoing efforts to modernize and standardize airport firefighting capabilities across its nationwide network.
“This delivery represents the next phase of a long-term fleet modernization strategy which began in 2013, when CAAP first standardized its ARFF fleet acquisitions on Oshkosh Airport Products platforms following a stringent evaluation process,” Oshkosh Sales Director John Leong explained. Since then, 41 Oshkosh ARFF vehicles have been deployed across CAAP-operated airports, with these eight additional vehicles bringing the total to 49 units in the modern fleet.
Oshkosh Airport Products has maintained a strong working relationship with CAAP for more than a decade, supporting fleet modernization and lifecycle service requirements across multiple airports throughout the Philippines. This continued collaboration reflects CAAP’s confidence in Oshkosh’s performance, durability and operational reliability.
The Striker 6x6 ARFF configuration provides capabilities well suited to the Philippines’ unique operating environment, which includes an archipelagic geography, coastal conditions and a distributed network of more than 90 airports. Each vehicle is designed to deliver high performance in demanding conditions, with features supporting rapid response, maneuverability and long-term durability.
Key operational features include:
- TAK-4® Independent Suspension for stability and control during high-speed response
- Pump-and-roll capability for continuous firefighting during response
- Structural panel construction for corrosion resistance in tropical environments
- High maneuverability for operation on varied terrain and inclines
- A custom Striker ARFF chassis designed to meet the extreme acceleration, stability and payload requirements of ARFF missions
“Oshkosh Airport Products has consistently delivered reliable, high-performance vehicles which meet the demanding operational requirements of our nationwide airport network,” said Chris Jones Reyes, Fire Chief of CAAP, Kalibo Airport. “These new Striker 6x6 ARFFs will further strengthen our emergency response capabilities and ensure we are fully prepared to support safe and efficient airport operations.”
Reyes also noted a major differentiator of Oshkosh Airport Products is its custom chassis, purpose-built specifically for aircraft firefighting operations. Oshkosh designs and manufactures the complete Striker ARFF vehicle architecture to meet the extreme acceleration, stability and payload demands of airport rescue and firefighting operations. Configured to support CAAP’s operational and regulatory requirements for high-capacity aerodromes, the vehicles help enhance ICAO compliance, improve redundancy at key airports and promote greater standardization across maintenance and training programs.
The project was executed in close collaboration with Asian Aerospace Corporation, which operates as the Oshkosh Airport Products authorized distributor for the Philippines and the service center in support of CAAP, ensuring seamless coordination throughout specification, production and deployment. By expanding its existing Oshkosh fleet operating across the Philippines’ challenging archipelagic geography, CAAP continues to strengthen its emergency response infrastructure as regional air traffic and operational demands grow.
