Striker® Volterra® Electric ARFF Takes Center Stage: Our CES 2026 Recap

CES 2026 showcased breakthrough technologies shaping the future of public safety, transportation and sustainability. More than 148,000 innovators and forward thinkers from around the world gathered for the event, and Oshkosh Airport Products was proud to be part of the conversation, introducing attendees to the world's first electric aircraft rescue and firefighting(ARFF) vehicle: the Striker® Volterra® Electric ARFF.

Described by attendees as “the coolest thing at the entire CES show,” the Striker Volterra Electric ARFF captured attention for its powerful combination of performance and firefighter-focused design that is already making an impact worldwide.

As part of Oshkosh Corporation's broader CES experience, the Striker Volterra Electric ARFF helped demonstrate innovation is no longer theoretical. It’s being deployed, tested and proven in real-world environments.

CES Conversations: Electrification for Real-World Emergency Response

Electrification was a dominant topic at CES 2026. But at Oshkosh, the conversation focused on a critical distinction: electric technology must be purpose-built for the realities of emergency response, especially in the high-stakes world of aircraft rescue and firefighting.

During CES Tech Talks and discussions on the show floor, Andy Mathes, Director and General Manager for Oshkosh Airport Products, helped frame how Oshkosh is advancing electrification for ARFF operations. Rather than leading with technology alone, the discussion began with the needs of firefighters and the unique demands on the runway.

For airport fire departments evaluating how to balance sustainability goals with uncompromising operational readiness, the Striker Volterra Electric ARFF sparked conversations about what electrification looks like when it’s engineered around firefighter needs.
