Boston Logan International Airport Expands ARFF Fleet with Two New Oshkosh Airport Products Striker® 8x8 ARFF Vehicles

These Striker® 8x8 ARFF vehicles strengthen Boston Logan International Airport’s emergency response capabilities and showcase continued investment in cutting-edge ARFF technology.

APPLETON, WIS. (February 3, 2026) Oshkosh Airport Products, a division of Pierce Manufacturing Inc. and an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) business, announced the delivery of two Striker® 8x8 Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles to Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), further advancing Boston Logan’s commitment to safety, reliability and operational excellence.

Boston_2026_InsetThese Striker 8x8 ARFF vehicles are powered by two Scania DC16 V8 engines and are equipped with Oshkosh® TAK-4® Independent Suspension which provides outstanding off-road maneuverability and operational control. They also feature a 4,500-gallon (17,034-liter) water tank, a 630-gallon (2,384-liter) foam tank and 550 pounds (249 kilograms) of dry chemical, providing substantial firefighting capacity.

“Oshkosh has maintained a high standardization level between models, which provides familiarization from truck to truck and minimal training on the differences,” said Michael J. Beeley, Deputy Chief, Planning, of Boston Logan and other Massachusetts-area airports.

Additional highlights include:

  • Low attack bumper turret (625/1,250 gpm) and roof turret (625/1,250 gpm)
  • Oshkosh® Eco-EFP™ Foam System
  • FLIR M-Series camera, rear and forward video and digital recording capabilities for enhanced situational awareness
  • Advanced lighting package featuring perimeter and warning lights, rigid worklights and reflective diamond-grade chevrons for maximum visibility

Boston Logan International Airport is located approximately three miles northeast of downtown Boston and covers over 2,300 acres. The new Striker 8x8 vehicles will be fully integrated into the airport’s emergency response protocols with continued support from Oshkosh Airport Products’ training and technical teams.
