The Oshkosh Airport Products Striker® Volterra™ Electric ARFF earned a CES “Best of Innovation” award and will be on display in Oshkosh Corporation’s booth.

APPLETON, WIS. (December 22 2025)
Oshkosh Airport Products, a division of Pierce Manufacturing Inc. an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) business, will display a Striker® Volterra™ Electric 6x6 Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) vehicle at CES 2026, January 6–9 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The vehicle, currently in service at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), has earned the CES “Best of Innovation” award for the Travel and Tourism category. One of DFW’s Striker Volterra Electric ARFF vehicles will be featured in Oshkosh Corporation’s booth, located in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The Striker Volterra Electric ARFF reflects Oshkosh Airport Products’ commitment to innovation in firefighting, electrification and connected technologies. CES attendees will experience how the vehicle fits into the broader “Airport of the Future” presented in the booth, alongside technologies from other Oshkosh businesses supporting airports, neighborhoods and job sites of the future.

“Participating in CES offers a unique opportunity to connect with audiences outside the traditional aviation community,” said Andy Mathes, General Manager and Business Unit Director, Oshkosh Airport Products. “DFW’s Striker Volterra Electric ARFF is an excellent example of how modern ARFF vehicles are helping airports advance emergency response while supporting operational and sustainability goals.”

About the Striker® Volterra™ Electric ARFF Vehicle:

The Striker Volterra Electric ARFF vehicle in service at DFW features a patented Oshkosh electric powertrain paired with an electro-mechanical infinitely variable transmission. This configuration enables zero emissions operation during station entry, standby and low-speed movement, reducing firefighter exposure to diesel exhaust. The integrated system can draw power from both the battery and the internal combustion engine (ICE) to deliver 28% faster acceleration than a Striker ARFF with only an ICE.

Key performance features include:
  • Acceleration from 0–50 mph (0–80 kph) in under 21 seconds when fully loaded
  • TAK-4® Independent Suspension for precise control and ride quality
  • 3,000-gallon (11,356-liter) water tank
  • 420-gallon (1,590-liter) foam tank
  • 2,000 gpm (7,570 lpm) water pump
  • 500 lb. (250 kg) dry chemical powder system
  • Oshkosh® Eco-EFP™ Foam System
DFW is among the first U.S. airports to adopt electric ARFF technology, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and sustainable operations.

About Oshkosh at CES:
The ARFF vehicle will be showcased alongside other Oshkosh Corporation technologies, highlighting advancements in autonomy, artificial intelligence, connectivity and electrification. Booth highlights include:
  • Jobsite of the Future: Electric, autonomous and connected equipment is revolutionizing construction sites, aiding safety, supporting productivity while also promoting sustainability.
  • Airport of the Future: AI-enabled electric and autonomous gate and ground support equipment, combined with a connected ecosystem to help optimize operations and reduce travel-related delays.

In addition to a “Best of Innovation” award in the Travel and Tourism category for its Striker Volterra Electric ARFF, the company has also received a “Best of Innovation” award for its JLG® Boom Lift with Robotic End Effector in the Robotics category. Additionally, Oshkosh Corporation was named a CES Innovation Awards Honoree in the Construction and Industrial Tech category, for its JLG® Boom Lift for Construction and Industrial Applications and its McNeilus® Volterra™ Electric Refuse and Recycling Vehicle.
